Answer:
A person who intends to obtain a grant of a patent registered under Korea Patent Act Article 87 (1) shall pay patent fees for three years from the date when he/she intends to obtain grant of the patent registered (hereinafter referred to as “registration date of grant”).
The Korean patent starts from the fourth year, and the annual fee is paid every year.
The patent is then renewed each year before the “due date” (the date of registration date of grant).

The patentee may pay the patent fees for several years or all the years at one time in the order of consecutive payment years.
Patents can be renewed up to 3 months before the due date.
The annual fee can still be legally paid up to 6 months after the due date, but there is a 100% surcharge fee to be paid.
If the payment is not made within 6 months after the due date, the patent will be expired.

In addition to paying the patent annual fee in the KOREA by the patentee, if you want to pay the annual fee, do you have to go through a patent agent?

Answer:
It is not necessary to go through a patent attorney, but it is required to have a domicile or business address in Korea.
If you have a residential address in Korea, you are legally entitled to go through the application process yourself.
When you receive your application number, you should submit a certificate of fact of alien registration issued by the Korean Immigration Service or your local district (Gu) office.

Online can be pay by credit card or debit card or pre-dKoreasit account, and mail can be accompanied by check or postal money order or money order.
How many ways are there to pay the patent annual fee in the KOREA?

Answer:
There are four ways you can make the payment. You can use the electronic application system to (1) pay the fees online or via an (2)Internet giro.
Then, you can visit our office in person and (3) submit form(23,25), at which time they will issue you a receipt.
